Resume FitPrivacy Policy
This policy explains what data the Resume Fit browser extension and website (tryresumefit.com) collect, why, and what you can do about it. The data controller is Gourav Kumar Giri, Bagdogra, Siliguri, West Bengal 734014, India (giri.gaurav2002@gmail.com).
The short version: your resume PDF is read inside your browser. Its text is sent to our servers only when you ask for a score or a tailored resume. We don't have accounts, we don't sell data, we don't use advertising trackers, and we delete resume and job text after 90 days.
1. What we collect

We don't collect your browsing history. The extension doesn't run on pages until you click it, and it doesn't read other tabs. Card and bank details are entered on Paddle's checkout and never reach us. Paddle may share your email address and country with us as part of the order record.
2. How we use it
Only to provide and secure the Service: generating scores and tailored resumes, processing purchases and refunds, preventing abuse, answering support requests, and fixing problems. We don't sell or rent your personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles about you.

These providers may process data outside your country. They are bound by contracts to protect it and to use it only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
- Resume text, job descriptions, tailored resumes, cover letters and LinkedIn results: deleted from our servers automatically after 90 days.
- Scores: the score and its summary (without your resume text) are kept for up to 12 months to enforce free-use limits and improve quality.
- Purchase records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires (typically up to 8 years).
- Data on your device: stays until you remove it or uninstall the extension.
5. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to stop processing it. Email giri.gaurav2002@gmail.com with your credit key (in the extension under "Credit key"). Because we don't hold your name, the credit key is how we find your data. We'll respond within 30 days. You also have rights under laws that apply to you, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and, if you are in the EU/UK, the GDPR. That includes the right to complain to your data protection authority.
6. Cookies and tracking
Our website sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Paddle's checkout uses the cookies it needs to process payments securely and prevent fraud. The extension uses your browser's local extension storage, not cookies.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Our database is not publicly accessible and can only be reached by our server functions. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
9. Chrome extension permissions
- activeTab / scripting: to read the job posting, or the LinkedIn profile, on the tab you click the extension on, only when you click it.
- storage: to keep your resume text, credit key and recent results on your device.
Resume Fit's use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose and is never sold or transferred for unrelated purposes.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for material changes we'll tell you in the extension.
